“This is a very exciting development for us and our fans,” Durham Bulls General Manager Mike Birling said, “with the help of Time Warner Cable; we’ve become one of only two Minor League teams to broadcast that many games in high definition.”
Along with the 53 games on Time Warner Cable Channel 1151, the Bulls will have three games broadcast in high definition on MLB Network, Time Warner Cable Channel 1524. Those broadcasts take place on May 11th, May 18th and June 6th.
Also new this season is a state-of-the-art graphics package designed and engineered by locally based SMT (SportsMEDIA Technology Corporation). The package was designed to reflect the latest in sports television technology while retaining a local look and feel. Fans will appreciate the nuances that mirror some of the more prominent features of the ballpark and the downtown Durham community. With expanded lower third and slide-out graphics and an array of informational full screens, the fully integrated package allows the Bulls production crew to frame the game for the audience in ways that will significantly enhance the broadcast.
