SunTrust Broadway at DPAC 2013/2014 Season Announced

Broadway just got one box step and a jazz hand closer to Durham, home to DPAC, The Durham Performing Arts Center.  Heads up, last year DPAC was ranked the top selling theater in the country by Pollstar magazine.

Direct-from- New-York, Nederlander presents the SunTrust Broadway at DPAC, 2013 / 2014 Season.  From current hits on Broadway to London’s West End, DPAC's sixth season features seven “can’t miss” blockbuster musicals.

From the creators of South Park and winner of nine Tony Awards, The Book of Mormon will play February 11-23, 2014. The New York Times calls it “the best musical of this century” and Entertainment Weekly says it’s “the funniest musical of all time." Season Seat Members receive priority tickets, providing the best way to guarantee seats to The Book of Mormon.

With over 11,000 Season Seat Members, DPAC is proud to be the center for live entertainment in the Triangle and along with Nederlander, has committed to bringing the best of Broadway to the Triangle in the 2013 / 2014 Season. From Tony®-award winning musicals to music from Broadway’s most renowned composer Andrew Lloyd Webber, this season will provide many exciting moments for the entire family!

Broadway’s most romantic love story, GHOST, opens the season in November, featuring “eye-poppingly brilliant [sets] and glorious songs” (AP). Arriving in December, Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas is the perfect holiday outing. Starting the new year in 2014, winner of eight 2012 Tony® Awards including Best Musical and winner of the 2013 Grammy® Award for Best Musical Theater Album, ONCE, brings a truly original Broadway experience to the Triangle. Hailed by the New York Post as “a modern masterpiece,” EVITA, New York’s stunning blockbuster follows. Featuring the film’s classics and bring an enchanting adaptation of new songs, The Wizard of Oz takes audiences on a journey to Oz like no other. The season finale is Broadway’s greatest hits come to life in The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber, bringing thirty years’ worth of inspirational works from the Tony®, Grammy® and Academy® Award-winning composer.

Tickets for this season’s shows are currently available as part of the SunTrust Broadway, 2013 / 2014 Season package. Prices for the seven-show season will vary depending on titles and seats selected.
