While it's an often repeated joke that college students subsist off of Raman noodles and macaroni and cheese, that doesn't have to be the case in Durham.
The Durham Farmers' Market will welcome Durham’s college students for College Day on April 13 from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Durham Central Park. Many of the market’s vendors will be offering a 10 percent discount to students with college identification from Durham’s Durham Technical Community College, Duke University and N.C. Central University.
There will also be display tables and exhibition presentations from student organizations at NCCU. The market is holding the day in conjunction with NCCU’s Green Team, a university committee. The market is located at 501 Foster St. in Durham in the Durham Central Park Pavilion. It’s open on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to noon April through November and for shorter hours in the winter, and from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Wednesdays from mid-April to September.
